3rd Grade – Class of ’30

Trick-or-treating parade & Jack O’Lantern Carving

What: Trick-or-treating parade (in-person, socially distanced) & Jack O’Lantern carving contest (virtual)

When: Saturday, October 31st 10a – 11a (in-person)

Where: Starts at Ercolini Park and then a few block of nearby for trick-or-treating

Trick-or-treating parade (in-person) – Let us know if you can come so we can prepare candy bags: Signup Genius. To participate on October 31st at 10am head to Ercolini Park and the 3rd graders can walk in a clockwise circle around the grassy park walkway masked and distanced 6ft apart. After a few Ercolini laps, use the online map (still being created) to visit a few 3rd grade houses of parents in our grade that will have candy out in individual bags on tables next to the sidewalk. We will also have left over extra books from our book swap at one of the homes to take a book home.

Treat Hosts (in-person) – do you live near Ercolini Park? If yes, can you help sign up (by 10/25) here: Signup Genius. You would put out a folding table (we can loan) at the end of your front walkway at the sidewalk to leave out individual pre-wrapped candy bags. We will supply you the candy bags already bagged up to place on a table. Candy hosts are encouraged to take measures to separate parade participants who may arrive at the same time (could chalk mark sidewalk six feet apart, etc).

Virtual Jack-o’-Lanterns Contest (virtual)- we’re calling on our crafty and creative 3rd grade families to carve a pumpkin and post it on our 2030 Facebook Page (Facebook). Join the group anytime to see the photos/post photos. Look for the pinned post up top and we will do a randomized draw on 10/31 of all entries. The two “winners” will get a little trophy we can drop off on your doorstep. If you aren’t on Facebook email Amy with your photo and we can post for you.
