3/25/2017 – Barre and Bubbles for Mom

When: 9:00am – 11:00am PDT

Let’s get together…without the kids!…for a fun morning of Barre & Bubbles at EvoFit.

First, we’ll participate in a fun, but challenging 60 minute EvoBarre class. Then, we’ll have time to mingle and catch up over a “mom-osa” bar and LuluCakes mini cupcakes (vegan, dairy free, egg free)! Please sign up so we can make sure we have enough space (and bubbles and cupcakes!) for everyone. This class is for ALL fitness levels, so come and have fun!

3/22/2017 – Early Release Bowling

Where: West Seattle Bowl, 4505 39th Ave. SW 98116

Join the 3rd grade cohort for bowling on our next early release on March 22nd. Please bring $8 cash/check  for each bowler in order to expedite the check-in/payment process.


1/8/2017 – Family Roller Skating

Where: Southgate Roller Rink – 9646 17th Ave SW

When: 1:00pm-4:30 pm

Cost: $7.50 (includes skate rental)

11/5/2016 – Volunteer Work Party

Where: Dragonfly Pavillion

When: 10am

Come and volunteer with the 3rd grade cohort and the Nature Consortium. We will be planting trees and removing invasive species in support of Seattle’s largest urban forest, the West Duwamish Greenbelt. 10/26/2016 – Early Release Bowling

When: 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Where: West Seattle Bowl, 4505 39th Ave. SW 98116

Back by popular demand! The Third Grade Cohort will meet for a bowling party on the October early release day. The cost is $7.75 for 2 hours of bowling + shoes. (Check in at the counter.)

Please remember that this isn’t a drop-off event. An adult needs to be present to supervise the children you bring.

10/22/2016 – Parent Social

When: 7-10pm

Where: Chris and Chris O’Claire House, 4031 54th Ave SW

Let’s get together to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. We’ll have some “Howlin’ Fun Games”, a Costume Contest, light nibbles and ghoulish drinks.

West Duwamish Greenbelt Service Event

Saturday, June 18, 2016 (2 shifts)
Pigeon Point Park, 1901 SW Genesee St.

The 2nd grade cohort is partnering with the Nature Consortium to help restore the city’s largest urban forest. Join the class of 2026 cohort families as we unite to give back! The teams will be responsible for removing invasive plants and putting down mulch to support native plants and trees.

There are two shifts. 10-11:30 am and 12:30-2 pm. Park in the Pathfinder K-8 School parking lot and meet behind the school at your shift time.

Early Release Bowling

Trying to figure out what to do with your kids on early release day? Look no further!

Bring them to West Seattle Bowl for a bit of bowling. For just $5.75, kids get shoe rental + one hour of bowling. (That price includes tax too!) Siblings are welcome.

THIS IS NOT A DROP-OFF EVENT. Parents MUST accompany the children they bring, and stay with them the entire time.


Halloween Party – ADULTS only!

This year, the fall moms’ and dads’ party has a Halloween theme. Wear your favorite costume and make it fun! It’s an adults-only party for the parents of the Class of 2026. Come for the entire time or just drop in for an hour — whatever suits your schedule. Please bring a donation for the keg; we’ll donate any extra to the cohort.


Roller Skating and Pizza

Friday, October 2, 2015, 6:30-8:30 pm
Alki Community Center, 5817 SW Stevens St.

We’ll meet at Alki Community Center for a pizza dinner followed by a skating party in the gym. This event takes place as part of the community center’s regular Friday Night Skate. The cost to rent skates is $3. (Bring your own, if you have them!) Also, please bring a cash donation to offset the cost of the pizza. We’ll send a SignUp Genius, so we know how much pizza to order.

Poetry Slam

We will come together to listen to all of our star students reading their poetry! Teachers will work with the students on their poems leading up to their special debut when they read them from the stage. Stay tuned for more details!


Roller Skating

When: February 13, 2015, 6-8 pm
Where: Southgate Roller Rink, 9646 17th Ave Sw, Seattle

Christmas Ships

When: Saturday, December 13, 2014, 4:30pm
Where: Alki Beach (meet across the street from the Starbucks, and look for the glow sticks!)

Join us on Alki to enjoy the Alki Christmas Ships, a 20-minute holiday concert broadcast onshore, and a warm bonfire (thanks to the Parks Department). Some of our own West Seattle students will be performing. This is a great way to get in the holiday spirit with family and friends!

Formal events start at 4pm and last until 6:30. Our plan is to gather at 4:30, in time to enjoy the ships and concert. Feel free to stay longer!

Schedule of formal events:
4:00 – Alki Bathhouse opens – musicians and singers begin performing
5:10 – Argosy Christmas and Parade ships arrive
5:10-5:30 – the Dickens Carolers perform a 20-minute holiday concert, broadcast onshore
6:30pm – end of formal event

Afterwards, stay with family and friends to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant!

Meeples Games Gathering

Who: 2nd grade families

During the week of Thanksgiving break/conferences, meet us at Meeples Games to join your classmates in some game playing. They will put out a bunch of 2nd grade appropriate games for the kids to enjoy and learn how to play. You may even be able to get some holiday gift ideas while seeing what your kid enjoys!


Parents’ Halloween Bash

When: Friday, October 24, 2014, 7-10pm

Who: Schmitz Second Grade parents/guardians (no kids!)

You can come for the night,
you can come for a flash…
But come have fun
at our Halloween bash!

Bring a donation for the keg, a dessert, snack/appetizer or another beverage of choice.  Costumes are encouraged but optional.
